SECONDARY DAMPING SYSTEMS:
Modern closed cartridge damping systems such as KYB AOS/SSS and SHOWA Twin Chamber function with 2 basic damping systems. The “closed cartridge” is a cylinder, piston rod and base valve with air and oil separated to provide consistent damping force. The total “responsibility” of the closed cartridge we call PRIMARY damping. The PRIMARY damping controls most of the speeds that the fork works, but for the highest speeds the fork is compressed, additional damping is needed to prevent hard bottoming or even long or full stroke usage. This is where SECONDARY damping is utilized. It works independently of the PRIMARY damping, it is outside of the closed cartridge system. The SECONDARY damping systems are either a high speed restrictive “spring perch” or a “spring tube”which restricts oil as it is forced up between the cartridge body and a tube. Both systems provide different secondary damping “responsibiLities”.
TECHNICA SPRING TUBES:
The spring tube secondary damping system is suitable for motocross usage as opposed to Supercross or high speed compression requirements. Technically, the damping force provided by a spring tube is LINEAR rather than PROGRESSIVE, so the higher speed damping that it provides tends to be less spiky or choppy as secondary damping kicks in. ENZO recommends the spring tubes for general motocross usage.

TECHNICA PRELOAD BRACELET
Designed and developed by ENZO as an alternative to the stock preload locking system. The spring preload setting can be secured by engaging a bracelet with a “TOOTH NOTCH” with a pinch bolt system that tightens around the reservoir of the shock body. This method is easier to access, and eliminates the need to strike the shock with a hammer and punch. Often when the shock is hot from operation, the body expands excessively and the stock preload rings can deform from impacts while they are tight around the body because of the heat expansion. Sometimes the stock preload rings even seize on the body and striking them can damage the threads. The TECHNICA PRELOAD BRACELET fits over the reservoir easily, and the “tooth notch”can be engaged into the notches on the preload adjuster. Only the spring seat preload ring needs to be retained, the lock ring can be removed.

TECHNICA POLISHED AND KASHIMA COATED KYB SHOCK BODIES: ENZO has the stock KYB shock bodies for 2019 YAMAHA YZF models polished to remove excess surface flaws, then sends them to MIKAKI in Japan to be KASHIMA COATED. KYB shock bodies in stock for some models.

TECHNICA SPRING PERCHES
Standard spring perches in KYB and SHOWA forks have large slots in them and appear that they would not have much effect restricting high speed flow, but they actually do. ENZO has several different configurations of spring perches, but ideally they are used for SUPERCROSS use.

TECHNICA WORKS BOTTOMING BUMPER KIT:
Works style bottoming bumper, conical cushion rubber with capture cup and c-clip. Replaces stepped bumper type with stronger progressive characteristic.
KYB YZF MODELS ONLY: $80.00
TECHNICA REDUCED VOLUME BLADDER CAP FOR 2019 YAMAHA YZF MODELS:
The 2019 model YAMAHA YZF 250 and 450 changed the rear suspension linkage/shock arrangement, with slightly different rising rate, but a shorter stroke shock absorber. The rear travel is the same amount so the component stroke must perform stronger. The standard spring rate is higher, the damping specification is stronger, but the gas bladder volume is substantially larger. The intended function of this change is to reduce the effects of pressure build up, but it tends to reduce the total progressive spring rate more. By reducing the volume of the gas chamber, the end force of the total spring character becomes stronger and matches the rear suspension action better. The design also replaces the needle type gas fill with a schrader valve.

TECHNICA COMPRESSION ADJUSTERS: ENZO designed compression adjusters for KYB and SHOWA rear shocks. Wider piston face design gives smoother action and improved traction.
KYB and some SHOWA models $250.00
SPRINGS: The spring element of suspension is responsible for the load sensitivity of the suspension component. Riders of lighter or heavier weight may need to change the stock springs that come on production bikes to different rate springs. Production motocross bikes are set up during development testing to suit general weight specifications. For example, a 250 production bike may be set up for a 160 lbs. rider. If the customer weighs 190 lbs., he will have to change to a higher rate spring in order for the suspension to work as it is intended. The rate of springs can be determined by our technician after an interview.
FRONT FORK SPRINGS: $120.00 PER PAIR
REAR SHOCK SPRINGS: $130.00
ENZORACING SUBTANK SYSTEM
The enzoracing SUBTANK SYSTEM is a performance upgrade addition to your front fork. It creates a new performance dimension by providing “speed sensitivity” to the spring characteristic. Conventionally, the spring element of suspension is load/position sensitive only. The damping element of suspension is speed sensitive only. Both elements have specific functions but cannot do what the other does, that is why they work together.
However, by manipulating the “air spring” in the fork, the ENZO SUBTANK SYSTEM adds “speed sensitivity” to the fork spring. When the fork compresses at slower speeds, it gives the smooth, plush action of a low oil level. But when the fork compresses at higher speeds, it gives the firm, progressive action of a high oil level. Adjustment on the SUBTANK controls the speed at which the system activates. High quality construction of machined aluminum and carbon fiber keeps the total weight of the system at less than 1 pound. Includes carbon fiber subtank holder.
